Talk about a band with experience and talent – The New Catillacs have it in spades! Known for classic rock and roll dance music from the 60’s, 70’s and some 80’s, they raise the bar with their euphonious harmonies. (Check out the Bios page for details on each band member.)
Our fearless leader is Thom Van Ourkerk who was with the original Catillacs for more than 20 years – plays keys, sax, flute, harmonica, cowbell and more. He has also taken on lead vocals for a slew of new tunes.
Andy Tirpak joined the band in 2022 as lead guitar and vocals. It has been said that he knows more than 3000 songs and we are eager to find out! He loves to swap licks with Thom and Shaaron which brings new life to our proven tunes.
Shaaron Shuemaker has been in oodles of bands – playing bass and grabbing people by the ears with her powerful voice. From hard rocking tunes to tender love ballads, Shaaron brings it on – and adds a lot of style.
Our newest member, on drums and vocals, is the amazing Bruce Pictor. You want experience? Bruce has been the drummer for The Association since the 80’s. As long as he is in not on tour, he is a New Catillac.

A quick history. Why The New Catillacs? After Steve Loftis, the originator of the San Diego based Catillacs retired at the end of 2018, the remaining band members spent 6 months looking for new players to carry on with the great dance music they have been playing for decades. The result is the New Catillacs! Featuring Thom on keys and sax. Shaaron on bass and vocals, now with Andy on lead guitar and vocals and Bruce on drums. Read their bios here…
